This entire book is about how to tell if your veggies and fruits are ripe. The information included is common in most growing guides. But this book leaves out 90% of what you need to know to grow perfect veggies. It should be titled how to pick ripe produce. This was not written by Mel Bartholomew but rather unidentified writers from his Square Foot Garden Foundation. Information I want to know to grow the perfect vegetables would include soil mix or ph levels or fertilizer preferences, etc. Alas, none of that is in this book. Save your money. This book seems like a fundraiser for an organization whose founder had passed away, (published a year after Mel died)
